形態特徵

A deciduous tree to 15 m high.
Leaves even-pinnate, more or less alternate; petiole to 12 cm long, angular; leaflets 8–16, chartaceous, oblong-lanceolate, 8–15 cm long, 3–5 cm broad, acuminate, cuneate and oblique at base, the margin entire, glabrous and green on both surfaces; the lateral veins of 11–13 pairs, slender, slightly raised on both surfaces.
Inflorescence paniculate, terminal or axillary. Flowers small, 2–3 mm across, monoecious, dioecious, or polygamous; sepals 5; petals 5, white or lilac, ciliate at the margin; stamens 8–10, the filaments pubescent.
Fruit drupes, ellipsoid, about 1.5 cm across, yellowish. Seed single, black, with a crustaceous or membranaceous testa.

分布

台灣 : scattered in forest below 1000 m in altitude. The wood is used as planks and fruit as soap.
世界 : India, China, Japan.
